How to cut all types of masonry easily?

a lot of what you can cut will depend on the kind of stone and its molecular structure...limestone and sandstone will cleave well in all directions while some of your slates and flagstones will split if you try to cut them... granites can be cut with a chisel but are really hard on tool edges...a good set of carbide tipped chisels can cost hundreds of dollars...i use regular stone chisels and a quickie saw for those stubborn cuts...
