Best kind of litter for a Persian kitten?

Well, I have an exotic shorthair, which is basically a persian but was mixed with the american shorthair for the short coat. Anyways, the person I bought it from said to use non-clumping litter and I am so sick of it, the pee is hard to scoop up and it stinks because i can't get everything out. Can I use Arm & Hammer Clumping litter?
