How can I teach my cat to cover her scat?

My cat uses a litter box and she has never urinated or defecated outside of it. However, she doesn't cover her scat. Instead, she'll just scratch the walls of the litter box (for at least five minutes), or paw at the litter and move it around a little. I adopted her from a shelter where she was brought in at a month old, without a mother, and from what I've read, kittens learn from their mothers how to cover their scat. My conclusion at this point is that she never got a chance to learn how to do that, so I would like to teach her. I know, it sounds weird, but sometimes she can really stink up the house after a really big poop, and it would just make life a little easier (and less smelly) if she could learn that. I am not usually a depressed person, but lately, I just can't get motivated to do anything that needs to be done. How can I hang a wall bracket for a punchbag in the inside of my home?

Hi everyone, I have a problem. I have a spare room in the upstairs of the house where I wanted to hang a wall bracket for my punchbag. The instructions say that I need a 14.5mm(masonry drill bit) a hammer drill, and some 55mm plugs. The idea was to drill the holes in the gable end wall on the inside of the house, but the problem is that there's a thick layer of plaster coating the wall, which crumbles when I drill into it, before you reach the brickwork. Can anyone suggest a way that I can hang the bracket from the wall on the inside of my house? I am stuck, thanks.

You mention a hole. Is it a small single hole in the beam? If so it isn't termites. Termite hole look more like tracts. There are species of bees though that live in wood. Usually they drill one single hole for the hive entrance. The hole they make is roughly twice as big around as a pencil. To kill them just wait till evening when it gets dark and shoot wasp/hornet killer up in the hole. Since you have a single hole with sawdust under it I would suspect you have something like this and not termites.

How to weatherproof particleboard?

I've built a large pair of speakers to use in my equally large back yard. They will be permanently installed on masonry pedestals. I used particle board because I came upon a large quantity for free. This stuff will soak up water like a sponge and turn into mush. I'm thinking of rolling on polyester "fiberglass" resin but if anyone knows of anything that might stand up to the elements better I'm interested. Cost and time are considerations - I've thought of coating them with the aforementioned resin or poly varnish and then covering them as one would a shed, with tar paper and siding but quite frankly that's too much work. Perhaps "boat people" will know of some other finish that stands up the the elements better than fiberglass resin.

HELP! My sons father is taking me to court for FULL CUSTODY!!?

I am 22 year old single mother of a 2 year old boy, my sons father is 23 years old and we both have shared custody of our son but here is the problem.. He is taking me to court for FULL CUSTODY I got a knock on my door at around 11AM in the morning from his LITTLE SISTER giving me court papers and I didn't handle it very well so I broke down crying infront of her and asking her why she stated for me to ask her brother. The papers showed that he filed for court on me on MAY 12, But I got the papers MAY 31st !!! He gave it to me late notice and court was about 26 days away from that date, I have court on June 30th at 11AM. I live in Canada Toronto, Ontario. I breastfed my son for 5 months, I lived with my mother since my son was 1 years old and then got my own apartment after that but before that i was living with my mother and she was helping me with everything, I took my son to all his doctors appointments, I had him full time since he was 3 months old and after that his father had him for the weekends I was nice enough to do that for him, He NEVER PAYED CHILD SUPPORT only until we had an incident that happened on my sons birthday when I punched my sons father in the face because he said something horrible to me that I couldn't take in, him and his sister both forcefully took me out of the car (his sisters car) and tried driving off wiht my son in the car I called the police and the call turned out on me because him and sister stated i punched him in the face while she was driving and me and my son were in the back seat. The police asked them if they wanted to press charges on me and they said No, and they asked if my sons father was paying child support and he said no and they said he needs to start! I am not going to lie and say that did not happen it did but i appologized but because she told the police that they got childrens aid involved but the lady came to my house hold and she seen that my apartment was CLEAN there was food in the FRIDGE AND CUBBOARDS, and that my son was well taken care of. I am not rich I am on assistant since I WAS a full time mother. in December my sons father took my son to MEXICO he begged me and I told him no (reason because i felt my son was to young of age and i was afraid of all the sickness or dangers he can go through) he got his parents who reside in Mexico to call me and I said yes because they were begging for about an hour on the phone) I signed the papers for him to leave the country just to be nice. before that in October 2010 he automatically took my son from me full time and put him in daycare without my consent! and I ended up having him on the weekends ever since and still do. I haven't found work yet but I am trying and I want my son to be with me Mon-Fri and his fathers to have him on the weekends I am a good mother there is no reason for me to not have my son, I do not do drugs or alcohol or believe in abuse! I am on welfare and have a nice apartment (not housing) and I also get support from my mother she has been buying me groceries for 2 and half years since my sons father refuses to pay child support. My sons father is 23 years old and has A lot of money, he has a lawyer and I don't and HE FILED COURT ON ME! We both have shared custody since we are both on the birth certificate. I am a stay at home mom, I have been taking care of my child and so has he but he started paying me $198 a month for about 5 months because my social worker demanded it. in October my sons father put my son in daycare Without My Consent!!! and stopped paying me child support all of a sudden!! I went to my social worker and they gave me a paper to show me how much he owes me in child support including the times hes missed and including INTEREST! Why is our 4 year old Cocker Spaniel losing teeth?

He is taking me to court for FULL CUSTODY I got a knock on my door at around 11AM in the morning from his LITTLE SISTER giving me court papers and I didn't handle it very well so I broke down crying infront of her and asking her why she stated for me to ask her brother. The papers showed that he filed for court on me on MAY 12, But I got the papers MAY 31st !!! He gave it to me late notice and court was about 26 days away from that date, I have court on June 30th at 11AM. I live in Canada Toronto, Ontario. I breastfed my son for 5 months, I lived with my mother since my son was 1 years old and then got my own apartment after that but before that i was living with my mother and she was helping me with everything, I took my son to all his doctors appointments, I had him full time since he was 3 months old and after that his father had him for the weekends I was nice enough to do that for him, He NEVER PAYED CHILD SUPPORT only until we had an incident that happened on my sons birthday when I punched my sons father in the face because he said something horrible to me that I couldn't take in, him and his sister both forcefully took me out of the car (his sisters car) and tried driving off wiht my son in the car I called the police and the call turned out on me because him and sister stated i punched him in the face while she was driving and me and my son were in the back seat. The police asked them if they wanted to press charges on me and they said No, and they asked if my sons father was paying child support and he said no and they said he needs to start! I am not going to lie and say that did not happen it did but i appologized but because she told the police that they got childrens aid involved but the lady came to my house hold and she seen that my apartment was CLEAN there was food in the FRIDGE AND CUBBOARDS, and that my son was well taken care of. I am not rich I am on assistant since I WAS a full time mother. in December my sons father took my son to MEXICO he begged me and I told him no (reason because i felt my son was to young of age and i was afraid of all the sickness or dangers he can go through) he got his parents who reside in Mexico to call me and I said yes because they were begging for about an hour on the phone) I signed the papers for him to leave the country just to be nice. before that in October 2010 he automatically took my son from me full time and put him in daycare without my consent! and I ended up having him on the weekends ever since and still do. I missed some weekends but only because I am looking for work! I haven't found work yet but I am trying and I want my son to be with me Mon-Fri and his fathers to have him on the weekends I am a good mother there is no reason for me to not have my son, I do not do drugs or alcohol or believe in abuse! He has money I am on welfare how will I win this case my sons fathers girlfirend (that he cheated on me with when i was 7 and half months pregnant is on the daycare papers and she picks my son up from daycare. I don't work and my sons father lives with his sisters in a condo and works a 9-5 Job so I have no clue of why he wants my son full time I can have more time with my son as I do not work! he lied on the court papers and said my house is DIRTY, I have no FOOD, and that my hallway stinks of marijuana (my neighbors smoke alllllll daay) and stinks up the hallway. My house is CLEAN, and I do have food in the fridge I make sure to put breakfast lunch and dinner on the table at ALL times when my son is with me! I spoke with my sons father and he even appologized to me for assuming that i do not have food and all that stuff but he said he wants mondays to fridays and that he wants me to have weekends, but on the court papers he put SOLE CUSTODY and said I can only have SUPERVISED VISITS as if I am some crack head or something! Even my mother had to tell him he is in the wrong but he is doing this for his girlfirend and his sisters because if he was doing what was best for his son he would know mom is best for fulltime care giver! he even put the incident of when I punched him in his face on the court papers !! I spoke with him the other day and he said he would not take me to court if we can have a decent agreement so instead of going looking for a lawyer I left it alone, but he told me just 2 days ago that he will be taking me and that he will see me in court and that he has a GOOD lawyer and that I do too and I told him I don't have a lawyer and he said oh well see you there and hanged up on me ! Court is on thursday.........I have NO Lawyer, No nothing.. the onlly thing I have is witness what am I to do and I haven't seen my son in 2 weeks he is KEEPING MY SON FROM ME! I feel like breaking down what am I to do what can I do they

How hard is it to replace a door?

I'm being asked to supply a masonry opening size for a pre-hung external door that I want placed in a new precast concrete basement wall (Superior Walls). I know the rough wood opening spec for the door is 44 1/2 " wide by 82 1/2 " high. I'm trying to work from that and add for the wood framing that I would need to get to the concrete opening size. I'm thinking adding 6 inches to the width would be sufficient for king studs and trimmer studs on the sides. What should I plan for the increase in height needed? I wasn't sure concrete opening height even made sense in this context. Does it still require a 2x6 pressure treated header ? So maybe I should add 5 1/2 " perhaps to the height ? Making the masonry opening to spec-out 50 1/2" wide by 88" high ?

Yes you will have to pay. You took it in for a tune up. They had to remove the line to get to the spark plugs. It wasn't an "eff up". Cars get old. Parts rust and become siezed. That's just how it goes. Tough luck.

Try a grainy scrub first, to get as much of the dye out as possible. If you still see traces, nail polish remover should do the trick. Be careful not to let it sit on your skin too long, and rinse well, because it will irritate your skin. If you're going to paint your face in the future, it's a good idea to apply a healthy coat of moisturizer first. The paint won't be as stable, so you'll have to be careful not to smear it, but it also won't sink in so deep, and will be a LOT easier to remove.

Framing basement, if bottom plate is anchored into concrete floor, does the top plate HAVE to be attached?

I am framing my basement, and have attached the top plate to the floor joists, but when I go to attach it in the other direction, it seems we dont have a rim joist that is accessible...it's burried past the masonry wall and it is all covered with insulation....would it be ok to ONLY attach the bottom plate to the masonry floors instead of having it attached at the top AND the bottom...we are using 3 1/4 inch tapcon screws for the bottom plates, will that provide the support we need for standard dry wall? If not...what are some other options? Maybe a brace directly into the concrete wall?

we just had an ice storm in PA for 2 days. we have a concrete wall around our back patio that supports a bedroom. the concrete wall is ready to collapse from the ice storm which means that a portion of our home will collapse also. on the front of our home the masonry has cracked and is starting to fall away from the house and i know that if it dosnt get repaird we will have structural damage to the wood, i just need to know if allstate will cover ice damage to our home.

I have had my ears at 00 for a few months now. Currently they still give off the acrid smell of rotting flesh each time i change them. Looking at what you have said it seems you should have a super garden but if you don't I have solved the problem with mulch. Seriously all those amendments etc are best served to the plants under the cool shade of a mulch. Especially where you have a walkway between the rows. It doesn't even have to be a super good rich composting mulch just a good covering will be a boon to your plants. I have planted and fertilized some very dismal gardens then one year I was going away for over a month so I just mulched to see if I would be able to salvage something when I got back. Wow did I get a lesson on how much care a plant needs I would have to stand out in the sun and shade the soil all day every day or hire some cheap mulch to do the work, The mulch I used was from a shredder and was made up of wood chips and junk vegetation but the results made me a true believer in mulch.

How to hide litter box odor?

I just recently got two kittens, they are great but there poop really stinks which of corse poop is not supposed to smell like roses, so my problem is my house is smelling yucky, I have a covered litter box, not one with a flap because they don't like it, and I am using fresh step litter. When installing blinds, what sort of anchor should i use on drywall over cement/cinder block walls?

The title says it all really- I am installing some lightweight IKEA blinds and did not realize the drywall would have brick just behind it. My sons father is taking me to court for SOLE CUSTODY!!?

I am 22 years old (full time mother) to a 2 and half year old beautiful boy. I am on welfare and have a nice apartment (not housing) and I also get support from my mother she has been buying me groceries for 2 and half years since my sons father refuses to pay child support. My sons father is 23 years old and has A lot of money, he has a lawyer and I don't and HE FILED COURT ON ME! We both have shared custody since we are both on the birth certificate. I am a stay at home mom, I have been taking care of my child and so has he but he started paying me $198 a month for about 5 months because my social worker demanded it. in October my sons father put my son in daycare Without My Consent!!! and stopped paying me child support all of a sudden!! I went to my social worker and they gave me a paper to show me how much he owes me in child support including the times hes missed and including INTEREST! My sons father makes me have him on the weekends now but I personally think he is doing this because his girlfirend (That he has cheated on me with when I was 7 and half months pregnant) Keeps telling him to take me to court and get SOLE custody and the court papers say he wants me to have supervised visits as if I'm some crack head or something (I DO NOT DO DRUGS) I am a good mother and take care of my son better then my sons father (his sisters and his girlfirned take care of my son and pick him up from day care since my sons father works 9-5 Job) when my son is with me he gets my FULL attention I am a young single beautiful mother and live on my own and make sure there is breakfast lunch and dinner on the table for my son at all times, I bath him at all times he is with me and take him with me everywhere i go when he is with me. I have court on Thursday at 11AM (June 30th) he lied and said i have no food in my fridge, and says my house is always dirty (I had the police investigate my house and said they have never seen a place so clean and nice since i keep my place well kept and they seen i had food in the fridge!) He says my hallway stinks of marijuana (witch is true) but only because my neighbors are pot heads and they are getting evicted they are moving next month my landlord found out they are selling drugs in the building so she evicted them! University of Washington has been my number one choice for years, and I just finished my junior year of high school. My unweighted GPA is a 3.3, but weighted is 4.2. I've done a lot of volunteer work around the community, interned at a research center, been involved in band and pep band, and have even started a club at my school this year, similiar to Model U.N. I have not taken the SAT yet, but I heard that is important for out of state colleges (I live in Colorado). HELP! My sons father is taking me to court for FULL CUSTODY!!?

I am 22 year old single mother of a 2 year old boy, my sons father is 23 years old and we both have shared custody of our son but here is the problem.. He is taking me to court for FULL CUSTODY I got a knock on my door at around 11AM in the morning from his LITTLE SISTER giving me court papers and I didn't handle it very well so I broke down crying infront of her and asking her why she stated for me to ask her brother. The papers showed that he filed for court on me on MAY 12, But I got the papers MAY 31st !!! He gave it to me late notice and court was about 26 days away from that date, I have court on June 30th at 11AM. I live in Canada Toronto, Ontario. I breastfed my son for 5 months, I lived with my mother since my son was 1 years old and then got my own apartment after that but before that i was living with my mother and she was helping me with everything, I took my son to all his doctors appointments, I had him full time since he was 3 months old and after that his father had him for the weekends I was nice enough to do that for him, He NEVER PAYED CHILD SUPPORT only until we had an incident that happened on my sons birthday when I punched my sons father in the face because he said something horrible to me that I couldn't take in, him and his sister both forcefully took me out of the car (his sisters car) and tried driving off wiht my son in the car I called the police and the call turned out on me because him and sister stated i punched him in the face while she was driving and me and my son were in the back seat. The police asked them if they wanted to press charges on me and they said No, and they asked if my sons father was paying child support and he said no and they said he needs to start! I am not going to lie and say that did not happen it did but i appologized but because she told the police that they got childrens aid involved but the lady came to my house hold and she seen that my apartment was CLEAN there was food in the FRIDGE AND CUBBOARDS, and that my son was well taken care of. I am not rich I am on assistant since I WAS a full time mother. in December my sons father took my son to MEXICO he begged me and I told him no (reason because i felt my son was to young of age and i was afraid of all the sickness or dangers he can go through) he got his parents who reside in Mexico to call me and I said yes because they were begging for about an hour on the phone) I signed the papers for him to leave the country just to be nice. before that in October 2010 he automatically took my son from me full time and put him in daycare without my consent! and I ended up having him on the weekends ever since and still do.
