Someone help. sprint issues...sprint stinks.?

i have the lg rumor touch for sprint. it barely ever sends messages or recieves them. & when it does its like 12 hours later. wtf?! i need some cheap tricks for recieving messages, like taking out thw battery, etc. thanks[:
