Is the smell from my turtle tank affecting my lungs?

I recently upgraded to a larger size turtle tank which also means that it is more inconvenient to clean. I'm only able to clean it about once a month and it always smells really bad. I have a good quality filter that clears up most of the waste but it still stinks. There is also a small patch of mold on the rock that my Turtle uses to sun bathe on. I'm wondering if the horrible smell coming from his tank is bad for my lungs because i cant even bare the smell anymore.
