Good way to repel bugs indoors?

What's a good way to repel bugs when you're indoors? The dorm I'm going to be moving into has plenty of them, and I just want something that I can put in my closet, dresser drawers, etc. that will keep bugs away. Preferably something that doesn't stink like moth balls do!
